Spam. Freedom from spam

The internet world is awash with spam (unsolicited bulk email). Spam is rarely sent by honest corporations, as they know that spam is a dishonest form of communications. Spam is like a telemarketer who uses reverse-charge phone calls to try to sell you their wares. Worse still, spam most commonly involves promoting dubious, even illegal goods and services.

Some estimate that 40% of all email traffic internationally is spam. Some say that spam is growing at 400% per annum. Many small businesses have closed under the intolerable weight of spam destroying their ability to operate efficiently. Surveys have shown that in white-collar industries, every worker is wasting 30 minutes or more every day on receiving and deleting spams. That adds up to many billions of dollars of lost productivity every year - productivity that would be better used to create wealth & employment throughout the economy.

Several European and Asian countries have now made spamming illegal. Several US States have now also made spamming illegal - and even sending spam from elsewhere to people in their State has been declared illegal in some.

Many organisations have grown with agendas to turn back the tide of spam. The following is a list of the most active and most reputable (listed alphabetically)..

I urge everyone to support these organizations.

  • Support their policies.
  • Webmasters, add links from your websites to theirs to help promote them. (Several have 'buttons' or banners' you can use... Or just copy the code from the text links from the list below.)
  • Support their products and services, where applicable.
  • Support them with your time and effort.
  • Support them with your finances - most accept and need your donations.

They need YOUR help in order to help YOU, and free you and the internet from the curse of spam.
